From a Collector Foldable Poster/Envelope

Experimental poster that folds up into an envelope. I figured out the geometry and mathematics of the fold lines to create both a cohesive poster and an envelope with distinguishable and intentionally designed folds. The poster and envelope can both stand alone as their own pieces, but together, they represent the experience of keeping letters and notes we are given from others and later pinning them to our walls as artifacts from our lives.

Transatlantic Chair Brochure

This piece is an informational brochure about Eileen Gray’s Transatlantic Chair. I was challenged to reference the shapes and spirit of the chair without directly picturing the chair itself. The curve of the chair’s spine contrasted with its metal structure is referenced in the timeline, and the shapes on the illustrative spread are abstracted elements of the chair. I am often inspired by three-dimensional objects in design, and this project allowed me to translate that inspiration into a two-dimensional design.

Your Mother’s Name EP Cover

EP cover for Susannah Joffe's Your Mother's Name. This work combines a hand-drawn cow, digitally drawn antlers that mimic a mother’s tramp stamp, and a photographed background refrencing Texas, where Susannah spent most of her life. This EP is a coming-of-age queer masterpiece about the impact of strained parental relationships on one’s perception of love. I was a fan of Susannah’s music long before I recieved the opportunity to work with her, and relate to these themes on a personal level.

Satan’s Greetings Series

Greeting cards reflecting negative sentiments. I created these cards with the intention of conveying two messages; one main message, and one hidden within the main message, through color. I received many cards throughout my life, all of them optimistic. However, many events in life that require communication are not happy ones; I have always wondered why there aren’t any greeting cards for these hard moments. I made these brutally honest cards to reflect the sad, aching parts of being human and having relationships.

Susannah Joffe Tour Poster

Poster for Susannah Joffe’s tour. This poster combines photography, type hierarchy, and color to visually communicate information. As a fan of Susannah Joffe, I wanted to create a promotional poster reflecting her vibrant and unique energy and style.

Typographic Poster Series

Illustrated typography poster series. My last name is Knight, so I illustrated the type for these posters based on the gothic, medieval imagery, metallic motifs, and Catholic sigil art that have always been my consistent sources of inspiration. I wanted to take these themes and put a contemporary spin on them graphically.

Bugbyte

This typeface, Bugbyte, is inspired by Y2K video games I played throughout my childhood, like Mario Kart and Dance Dance Revolution. I designed this typeface to capture the essence of these Y2K video games, incorporating elements reminiscent of the graphics and typography from that era. I am often in a state of Y2K nostalgia; creating Bugbyte allowed me to channel these fond memories into my work. I wanted to create a typeface I could use in my own work. Bugbyte is available for download upon request, and it has received positive feedback from those who share a love for the Y2K aesthetic.

Burnout

Experimental capmpaign about experiencing burnout. This project includes brochure, designed by me, as well as posters and merch designed by myself and other team members. I created the imagery of the fish trapped inside the computer to portray my own feelings of burnout, which at the time were centered around being glued to a screen all day, and feeling like my entire life force existed only inside that screen. We chose other relevant imagery, including the matches, which evoked a more literal sense of burnout.

Artist Posters

Poster series of artists I admire. In 2022 I did a 30 day poster challenge during which I created a poster every day. All of these pieces were inspired by 90s catelogs my mom had laying around when I was a kid.

Neon Demon Title Sequence

Title sequence for 2016 horror film, Neon Demon. I made this piece by configuring glow stick liquid into shapes of individual letters on a sheet of plexiglass under my bed. I imported all the letters individually and made them into words and phrases, timing them with the music I selected. I am fascinated by lyric videos, movie title sequences, and any form of animated experimental typography. I was obsessed with Neon Demon and other horror films during the pandemic, so creating this title sequence was exciting.
